Gothic/dark jewelry organizer you can make yourelf

Here's another DIY. It's really easy, and I think you all can see what I did here :) I just used twigs, hot glue and acrylic paint.

I painted few artificial leaves black and hot glued them to the twigs. Twigs are also hot glued to the frame. You can add anything else you want. Be creative :)

And this is how it looked before....

So, if you needed something cheap but cute, here's a perfect solution for you. You can leave it for notes or use it for jewelry. I'll be  making another one for notes too. I have  a big urge to goth up every corner of my flat, since I'm living alone for the first time :D

Turning things black :D

Oh, such a busy person I am. No time to even right a post. But here's one. Short, but...better then nothing. I'm rearranging my flat again since I decided to make the other room just a bedroom, so the main room would be living/working room. Before it was living/sleeping/working room... and the second one was just a storage for things that had no place :D
I'm a big fan of candles and every night I burn a good bunch of tea candles in my colored crystal glasses. I like how the soft light shines in the darkness and I fall asleep so easily :)

\\
My glasses

I bought a few hundred of them on a sale and decided to keep them in the box on the window shelf. The only free box I had was this yellow one and I decided that it needed a revamping.

Now it's all nice and black and has bats :D I did felt a great pleasure covering this yellow thing in beautiful black. :P

Take care!

Black cats sits where they want

I used to have this "altar" kind of thing that is not an altar just something arranged by me using "this looks nice" rule :D It used to be on the window of the living room and my cat used to walk all over it making me feel somehow uneasy, because maybe sometimes I do light a incense in this particular space for non particular reasons... or when I feel uneasy. All those candles in sparkling glasses makes me feel relax and calm. And so she kept contemn this lovely arrangement of mine till I decided to move it to another room. To my bedroom. I just went for a second to pick something else and here she was...  I guess I got her permission. She is calmly siting next to it and not on it :D

I do love how everything looks at the evening when I turn off the light and only candles are left to burn in my lovely red crystal goblets.

Moss terrariums in a vine glass

I decided to make new terrariums again and got moss and dirt  for it. I just felt to lazy to start making it. Few days ago I remembered two glasses of wine I kept on my window shelf and decided that they would be perfect for this. So all the moss got new home. It has jet to get green since it got dried from staying in a bag.  But that's the cool thing with it. No mater how "dead" it looks it will get green again after getting some water :D

Here it is right after making it. The making of little thing to add waits ahead. I jet need to decide what it will be: a fairy garden, graveyard, or a forest ground :) What I like about these moss terrariums is when the winter comes and everything is cowered by snow, these lit the islands of green really cheers you up :)  They are like mini world of awesomeness :D

Bedrooms to dream about

Living in a rented flat doesn't let you decorate it as you want and as I haven't spend more then 3 year in one apartment I don't want to get lots of stuff I would have to take with me. But time to time I get myself dreaming how great it would be to have a place of my own so I could decorate to my taste :D The decor ideas changes as times go ( all black, then white and black, then warm nature tones and so on). But hte thing that never change is that I want a big beautiful bed with wooden carvings o at least a canopy :D

Such bedrooms need a lot of space thought :) I like the warm tones. Not everything must be black for me these days :)

This whole room is perfect. I usually don't like carped but this one is in a perfect position. It's always nice to not get your warm feet out of the bed on the cold floor :D

My perfect bed preference would be a bed build in wall. I don't know if my other half would justify it but I love to sleep in a confined space. As silly as it sounds I would when I was teen I would crawl with my pillow into a wardrobe and would fall asleep there. One day my mom came in when I was having wardrobe nap. She was looking for me and it was hard to explain her where I was just a second ago when she entered my room and I was no where to be found. Still, I don't like places I can be stuck in, just the cozy ones I can leave whenever I'm....rested :D
I saw this bed in a wall in old Russian book. The was a space in a wall that was covered with curtain and behind them there was a  mattress big enough for a person to sleep. The high of this "bed" was just enough for a person to almost stand in.
Looked something like this :)

here's more modern version ....

It's a great idea for small space room or for a child room though I would enjoy such bed even now.

Lamp decor :D

I bought two Halloween paper lanterns recently and now one became my lamp :D

Lets not forget bats! They are a must this season :D I use another one as a night lamp as it can actually glow on it's own. As long as the battery allows t :D

I feel down a little bit lately. But my butlers take care of me :)

I also tried to make myself some pumpkin jam. My coworker ( after tasting it) said it should be eatable with chicken. I say "Relatives, get ready for your Christmas gifts of indescribably tasting jams... in cute jars" :D
For my personal notes when making strange jams " add lemon juices and sugar first and only then alter taste with other spices...."

Bat flower pot or anything else you would use it for :D

So here I was, siting with an almost empty pudding container in my hand. And suddenly  a thought came in that it would be perfect size to keep the little plant I got.  My mind started browsing images in my brain's archives and I got an idea that was inspired  by little  coffee cups I've seen and liked a lot. (I would love to own these babies, but have no ideas where to by one.)

It's very simple way to get your home ready for Halloween without buying decorations from supermarket. It's easy and can fit any size container :) And if you have children ( my friends just continues getting pregnant :D )  it's easy enough to make this with them.
To see the detailed tutorial visit my Cut out and Keep page :)

Making the wings :)

While the amount of bat decorations on my walls are growing and already are taking over bathroom the only thing my boyfriend said was:
"I'm not going to stop you".
He doesn't suspect I got an idea for our cat that includes bat wings too >:)
Any way, thanks for taking a look! I hope you'll find it useful ;)

Gothically yours,
Countess

Home decor: Bats! Bats everywhere!!!

So as I continue to decorate my home in Halloween theme I decided it's time for bats. I bought a thin cardboard that is strong enough to keep them firm but is not to strong to allow me cut out five of them at once. I cut the body and wings separately and glued them together. That way they got a nice springing and it was easy to make  bunch of them. It took me less then 20 minutes. They look nice on any object but for now they are landed on my doors.

Here's my pattern if you want to use it ;)

Decorating my home

While people are complaining about rain and chill weather, I can't stop enjoying Fall. And this Fall I decided to improve my home decor. It's already a year since we moved in so I want to make it really cozy.
Is spotted these pillows at m local super market and decided to get them.

I love the deer pillow the most. I would love the same one with deer gentleman looking to the opposite site. But it's the only version. The pumpkins pillow is just for Fall season. I find it cute :D

Next new decoration is the red hand tree I got after our exhibition. Sculpted the hands and made tree as well as painted it  and glued the leaves.

It looks nice and took a place by window :D

Looks nice from outside too :D

The plants I started to gather are also "living" by the window". I got purple orchid this week. I always forget to water my plants and I've lost many of them. I hope to be a better host this time. Any on easy caring tricks??

And the last thing that appeared in our home is this antique chair. I don't know how much antique it is, but the arms have bronze metal work and other "golden" parts are just paints. I'm leaving it as it if for now, but I'm thinking on recovering it latter.

For now it will be good at it is.

Framed Pumpkin. Home decor

So, I'm full of ideas as well as bad mood. So I try to chance it away by making something. Here's my last night fruit...or veggie:D
I really wanted some nice orange at home, now I have it. But I want more!! I really like how it looks. It was quite easy. I sculpted the pumpkin from clay and painted it. Everything else was cut out burned to get that old look and glued on framed piece of fabric :)
 Enjoy ;)

Flower pot DIY when you need one but all you got are tin cans :)

I was making new area at my home and  spontaneously got some plants. But I had no flower pot for them. I tried to place them in mugs but it didn't looked right. There were few coffee cans at home and I decided to use them. Everything turned out quite nice and I'm planing to make a matching one for a smaller plant. There is a half fool corns can in a fringe that is waiting for its transformation. This is a really fast way to decorate your home with no expenses. You can change it after a time when you are bored of the look and what something new. . It looks nice, And I can change it the same way to another color or add more matching flower pots just by using cans from corns beans or anything else :) Here's a simple tutorial for you.

All you need is a can scissors, glue stick, packing tape (transparent) and some firm packing paper.

Measure it so it would have enough height to cover the can. The length should be just enough to wrap it around plus  4 cm more.

Glue one end with packing tape to the can.

Than wrap it around, fold the edge in a little bit and glue it with glue stick.

Check you pattern. I managed to glue it upside down at first :D

For decorating it I took a hand made cameo I had....

... passed a black ribbon through it and wrapped it around.

 Thada...

I secured the back with the transparent tape, so the ribbons would not move.

Done!!!

Let me know if you'll use it :)
